Job 3:25-26

“What I feared has come upon me; what I dreaded has happened to me. I have no peace, no quietness; I have no rest, but only turmoil.” (Job 3:25-26).

Job is in a place where his greatest fears have actually happened. He is gutted and does not have the strength to continue – all is turmoil and pain.

Sometimes in life we come to the absolute end of ourselves. We don’t have the strength nor the will to keep going. It is not true that we will always have the strength to endure what is placed before us! Rather, it is true that God has the strength to carry us through those times, when we are powerless.

On the cross Jesus prayed, “Into your hands I commit my spirit”. He had nothing left but to die, but in that moment He had complete trust in His Father – who could raise Him from death.

At the end of ourselves our only hope is in Him, but He can do all things – and He loves us. Trust/faith in Him is the only thing that can get us through so look again to Him who gives us strength.

Job said in the end, “I know that you can do all things; no plan of yours can be thwarted. “You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak; I will question you, and you shall answer me.’ My ears had heard of you but now my eyes have seen you.” (Job 42:2, 4-5). We need Him!
